Endoscopic Brow Lift

Endoscopic brow lift is advanced minimally invasive surgical technique of brow or forehead lift which gives you a more youthful, relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated appearance. This endoscopic technique of brow lift requires 3-5 small incisions which may include three short incisions along the top of the scalp and a temple incision on each side. These tiny incisions can be concealed easily within the hair which leaves no visible scar.

Procedure

It is an outpatient procedure which can be done under intravenous sedation or general anesthesia, typically takes between 1-2 hours to complete. In this technique, your surgeon will insert an endoscope (a long, thin tube-shaped probe with a light at the end attached to a miniature video camera) through one of the tiny incisions placed just behind the hairline. It allows the surgeon to see what is going on underneath the skin and view the proceedings on a TV monitor in the operating room which makes easy to work on the various internal structures of the forehead. The surgeon then inserts another instrument through another of the tiny incisions to lift and reposition the skin. This procedure is ideal for those patients who have mild to moderate brow droop and horizontal wrinkles. Eyebrow shape and asymmetry can be addressed with this type of lift. Once the brow and forehead tissues have been lifted to their new rejuvenated positions, the surgeon uses a small Endotine Forehead device to securely hold the tissue in place during the healing process.

Downtime and Recovery –

Patients can resume their normal routine activities in about 2 weeks after surgery. You will experience some temporary swelling and bruising in your eyebrow and forehead areas immediately after surgery which may last for up to 10 days.

Advantages of Endoscopic brow lift over traditional “open” brow lift

  • Because of the smaller incisions, this procedure is less invasive than the classic lift. You will have minimal scarring and a shorter recovery time.

  • Numbness in the scalp is minimal.

  • Patients usually experience less of the itching sensation and less pain

  • Swelling and bruising are reduced

  • This technique results in reduced hair loss

  • Patients can resume their normal routine within 1-2 weeks after surgery. In some cases, patients have returned to work in just 3-4 days.

Benefits of Endotine Fixation Device For An Endoscopic Brow Lift –

The Endotine Forehead device gives your surgeon the most advanced technology for endoscopic brow-lift surgery. The bio-absorbable device is made from a substance called polylactic acid that dissolves naturally and is easily absorbed by the body. Endotine has several prongs that grasp the forehead tissue and another hub that fits into a small hole in the forehead or frontal bone. Typically it takes 2-3 weeks for the lifted tissue to reattach to the bone. The Endotine device gradually dissolves until it is completely absorbed by the body by 5-9 months.

  • Endotine devices provide a broader range of adjustment for brow height and brow contour. It holds the forehead up while it sticks back down to the bone.

  • Endotine’s multiple holding points spread the tension forces over a wide area which reduces the possibility of tissue stretch or suture failure during healing when the brow tissue re-adheres to the forehead/frontal bone which may occur post-operatively when you talk or making any facial expression

But the disadvantages of this procedure is that the Endotine device can be felt through the skin and is a little more expensive than other methods. You may also experience some increased sensitivity in the area, until the device naturally dissolves and is absorbed by the body.

Result

The procedure can lift everything from the hairline to the eyebrows. It can also tighten and help to smooth the forehead creases and frown lines. This revolutionary technique restores a more youthful contour to your forehead skin, upper eyelids and eyebrows and gives a relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated appearance. Unlike other options, such as screws or sutures that rely on a single point of fixation, an endoscopic brow lift with Endotine device lasts for many years.

Qualified doctors/nurses will discuss the procedure before any treatment at Aesthetic Beauty Centre, explaining any possible side effects.
