  • These hairs are resistant to flexing and tensile stress. They do not break easily and are long-lasting.

  • These hairs have a special reversible knot which ensures an excellent fixation of the implant but also allows complete removal of the fibre without leaving scars if needed

  • These hairs are identical to your natural hair. It is easily available in different lengths (from 15 cm to 45 cm), colours (up to 21 colours) and styles (straight, wavy, curly)

 The Biofibre hair implant Procedure-

This is a minimally invasive treatment for baldness which utilises artificial hair that is compatible with the human body. The procedure is done by planting these artificial hairs one by one into a specific area affected by balding or hair loss (alopecia) until the desired density is obtained. The colour, length and style are chosen according to remaining hair texture and preference of the patient. Prior to final fixing of the biocompatible hair, first, around 100-250 Biofibres are implanted in the area of baldness to test any reactions with your body. After 3-4 weeks if there are no reactions, then the remaining Biofibres are planted in stages. It is a simple painless out-patient procedure which is generally done under local anaesthesia. The implanted Biofibre generally gets fixed to the scalp in 20-30 days after the procedure and will remain unchanged for a few years.

It is an effective method for treating baldness due to its biocompatible nature and is well tolerated by the skin tissue.

Downtime and recovery-

There are little downtime and recovery period and this implantation process is subject to minimal pain and discomfort. You can resume your normal activities after the procedure and you can even start an active and sporty lifestyle after implantation.

Risk and complications-

Biofibre hair implant is a safe outpatient procedure and most of the patients are happy with the results if performed by trained surgeons.

But as in other cosmetic procedures, there is also some risk and complications associated with this procedure using artificial fibres. There is always the chance of infection, rejection and other problems, and this needs care for your entire life. Since the fibres are placed in the scalp and are exposed to dust, dirt, heat and the external environment, the possibility of infection is always high.

The Biofibre hair implant results-

Biofibre Hair Implant offers a high hair density in just a few hours with an immediate and natural aesthetic result. It requires a stringent maintenance programme to keep the expected aesthetic result. This procedure allows individuals to regain their confidence as the artificial hair looks and feels completely natural, and blends in well to give them a thick head of hair that is aesthetically pleasing. The transformation is immediate i.e. no waiting time to grow your hair like other hair transplantation methods (FUE and FUT). You can choose as many or as few fibres as you like. Usually, 500-1000 hairs are implanted per session depending on the area of the baldness. Implant sessions can be repeated every 4-6 weeks. The rule is that every implant can be performed only on a healthy scalp. Generally, the duration of the result obtained with a Biofibre hair implant varies depending on the correct management of the post-implant period. There is an expected 15-20% loss of Biofibre per annum, which needs to be taken into account.

A fantastic North East Surgery, great expertise in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Very pleased with my treatments.”

The treatment can also be phased carefully as part of a pre-planned programme helping to replace hair loss gradually without drawing too much attention. Dr Ash Dutta and his team at the Aesthetic Beauty Centre are the only clinics in the North of England to offer this treatment.
